Summary: The Senior Programme Manager for Postgraduate Research at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience is responsible for leading the Education and Support Team to deliver effective support for over 600 postgraduate research students. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement PGR strategies, while managing a small team to ensure workload distribution and adherence to deadlines. The position is based at the Denmark Hill Campus and follows a hybrid working policy. The successful candidate will be offered an indefinite contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of support for postgraduate research students and their supervising teams.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Doctoral Studies and key stakeholders to develop PGR strategy.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as UKRI and various funding providers.
  • Manage a small team, ensuring appropriate workload distribution and meeting key deadlines.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the faculty and improve processes within the team.

Key Skills:

  • First degree or relevant experience.
  • Substantial postgraduate administrative experience.
  • Experience in direct line management and team leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in leading and implementing change in an academic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office, SharePoint, and Power BI.
