Summary: The Senior Product Manager for Payments & Financial Operations will oversee the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of payment solutions within a complex business environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation and selection of payment solutions including providers such as Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, Worldpay and other relevant platforms.
  • Define and own the payments product roadmap.
  • Act as the bridge between business, technology, finance, commercial and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with commercial stakeholders on payment pricing, contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure payment solutions meet regulatory, compliance and security requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to deliver payment-related initiatives and enhancements.

Senior Product Manager – Payments & Financial Operations

Location: London (Hybrid) - London Bridge

Contract: Initial 6-month contract

Rate: Up to £550 P/D (outside IR-35)

Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Product Manager with a strong background in payments and financial operations to lead the evaluation, implementation and optimisation of payment solutions across a complex business environment. This role will focus on owning the end-to-end payments ecosystem, working closely with technology, commercial, finance, compliance and external payment providers to ensure seamless payment experiences and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will act as the central point of coordination between multiple stakeholders, driving the selection, integration and ongoing management of payment platforms and associated financial processes.

  • Lead the evaluation and selection of payment solutions including providers such as Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, Worldpay and other relevant platforms.

Required Experience

Proven experience as a Product Manager within payments, fintech, banking or financial services. Strong understanding of payment gateways and processors such as Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, Worldpay or similar. Experience delivering payment integration programmes and managing third-party vendors. Knowledge of payment lifecycles including authorisation, settlement, reconciliation and chargebacks. Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, commercial and compliance functions. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience operating within regulated environments.

Desirable Experience

Exposure to foreign exchange (FX) and multi-currency payment solutions. Experience with merchant acquiring and payment operations. Knowledge of PCI-DSS and payment security standards. Experience within consulting, financial services or enterprise-scale organisations.
