Summary: The Senior Product Manager role requires an individual with active SC or DV clearance and extensive experience in Government Digital Services (GDS). The position is focused on leading the development and delivery of digital products that enhance public sector services, ensuring alignment with user needs and policy objectives. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and teams to shape product strategy and ensure successful implementation. This position is based in Newcastle and operates in a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in line with GDS standards.
- Gather and prioritise user and stakeholder requirements to deliver maximum value.
- Define clear product objectives, success metrics, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with design, delivery, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and GDS compliance.
- Manage product backlogs, balancing business, user, and technical priorities.
- Lead product discovery, user research, and iterative testing to inform decisions.
- Monitor product performance, analyse outcomes, and iterate to improve effectiveness.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across government programmes to ensure alignment and visibility.
Key Skills:
- Active SC or DV Clearance.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, ideally at a senior level, within government digital or public sector environments.
- Strong track record of delivering end-to-end digital products, from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Deep understanding of GDS principles, user-centred design, and agile product delivery.
- Experience managing stakeholders across senior and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to define and track product KPIs and demonstrate impact on government objectives.
