About the role

We're supporting a well-established Fintech organisation as they look to bring in a Senior Product Designer with a strong focus on UI craft and visual direction.

This is a contract opportunity where you'll play a key role in elevating the look and feel of a large-scale, consumer-facing product. The foundations are already in place, including a recently launched brand platform, and now the focus is on translating that into a more refined, cohesive, and high-quality product experience.

You'll be working closely with an existing design team, taking early concepts and shaping them into a clear and confident UI direction. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on design work, setting standards through doing, and influencing quality across a product used by millions.

What you'll do

• Define and set the visual direction for the product UI, ensuring alignment with brand and a high standard of quality
• Take existing design explorations and push them further, bringing clarity, consistency, and a stronger point of view
• Design a small number of key screens and user flows that set the benchmark for the wider product
• Explore interaction and motion to enhance the experience - not just its appearance
• Partner closely with the Design Systems team to ensure your work translates into scalable components and patterns
• Communicate your thinking clearly, sharing rationale and helping the team align around a strong design direction

What we're looking for

• A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional UI craft - work that is thoughtful, polished, and intentional
• Experience designing consumer-facing products (mobile apps or complex web platforms), not just marketing websites
• Ability to balance ambition with practicality, raising quality while staying grounded in what can be delivered
• Strong instincts for modern UI, interaction design, and motion
• Curiosity about how AI is influencing product experiences
• Confidence to challenge ideas, elevate standards, and bring others along with you
• Comfort working in ambiguity and helping shape direction where it's not yet fully defined

• Strong alignment across design and product teams on the future direction
• A design direction that feeds into the design system and can be scaled by the wider team
