Detailed Description From Employer:

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Procurement Specialist for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of Circa £450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with the expectation to attend the Glasgow office as required with a minimum of 2 days per week (one of which being a Tuesday).

Responsibilities:

  • Required to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that service levels are cognisant of wider stakeholder requirements, as well as being both deliverable and capable of demonstrating value for money for the public purse.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of services supporting the communities.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in of the full end-to-end procurement process with clear working knowledge of public procurement legislation and sustainable procurement requirements (including community benefits).
  • Proven track record in the successful delivery of complex high-value / high-risk procurement projects and programmes, along with proven management and organisational skills, including the ability to balance competing demands.
  • Proven track record in supporting the review and summary of existing contracts, supporting internal “technical” leads with reviewing scope of existing contracts and leading the drafting of a contract specification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral), with experience of building strong productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
