Summary: As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for delivering the procurement strategy and policy within the organization, providing guidance to stakeholders, and managing procurement projects. Your role includes maintaining procurement systems and tools while ensuring compliance with public sector regulations. You will also draft essential procurement documents and analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities. This position requires strong stakeholder management and communication skills to effectively navigate complex procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Procurement Business Partner for Customer Connect & Workspaces and Communications, managing relationships for both Directorates.
- Maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and Executive Team members.
- Draft procurement strategies, tender evaluation reports, and contribute to Business Cases and Justification documents.
- Manage procurement tools such as Workday, Jaggaer, and Hornbill, ensuring maintenance and integration with external systems.
- Draft tender documents and run tender events on the E-procurement tool, Jaggaer.
- Manage procurement projects and RfPs for various services.
- Analyze information to identify opportunities for sourcing alternative suppliers and reducing costs.
- Stay updated on evolving procurement legislation.
- Take personal responsibility for delivering objectives in line with organizational values.
Key Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel for complex data manipulation.
- Experience in public sector procurement with CIPS L6 accreditation.
- Experience in managing large open procurement competitions and understanding UK Public Contracts Regulations.
- Strong numeracy skills for data analysis and drafting reports for the Executive Team and Board.
- Excellent communication skills for guiding stakeholders and conducting training sessions.
- Stakeholder management skills with the ability to convey difficult messages.
- Inquisitive mindset with logical thinking to understand stakeholder needs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Initiative to identify areas for system and process improvements.
- Strong team player with collaborative skills.
