Summary: The Senior Procurement Officer role at DWP involves managing procurement activities and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The officer will also be responsible for delivering savings opportunities and maintaining accurate procurement records. This role is hybrid, requiring two days in either Blackpool or Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring good communication links with relevant digital and financial stakeholders.
- Maintaining an accurate and timely pipeline of procurement activity and awarded contracts.
- Bringing market knowledge to support Digital in determining market approaches.
- Designing and conducting procurements for required software and services.
- Providing commercial management of resulting contracts.
- Seeking out and delivering savings opportunities and adding value.
- Ensuring all relevant information is stored appropriately and updated.
Key Skills:
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Experience of running procurements through CCS frameworks.
- Understanding of UK procurement legislation (PCR2015 and PA2023).
- Negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage a busy workload with competing priorities.
