Summary: The Senior Procurement Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing the resilience of the UK Energy Supply by delivering front-end commercial strategies within a procurement team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver procurement sourcing for 1-2 strategic tenders at a time.
  • Identify best sourcing strategies and lead events from market engagement to contract award.
  • Manage project documentation, including RAID logs, project plans, and project reporting.
  • Lead ‘Network Services’ tenders and ensure cost-effective energy procurement.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and maintain governance and compliance.
  • Manage complex service agreements with generators and navigate regulatory complexities.
  • Work closely with engineering and customer teams to translate technical requirements into procurement strategies.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in leading Public Sector Sourcing Strategy within the Energy Sector.
  • Ability to maintain governance and compliance while ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Experience managing complex service agreements with significant financial value.
  • Knowledge of OffGen regulations and power systems engineering concepts.

Procurement Heads are working on a critical assignment with a National Operator responsible for improving resilience across UK Energy Supply, securing sustainable, independent and affordable power for future generations.

Overview

Deliver front end commercial strategy within existing procurement team working on complex and challenging infrastructure programmes. In this role you will deliver procurement sourcing for 1-2 strategic tenders at a time, identifying the best sourcing strategies, and leading events from market engagement through to contract award. Exceptional project management of strategic tenders is required, keeping the sourcing team on track through communication and maintenance of key project management documentation, such as RAID logs, project plans, project reporting and RACIs. Key responsibility is leading ‘Network Services’ tenders. You will need exceptional stakeholder management skills and must be able to build collaborative relationships quickly. The existing team ensures cost-effective and greener energy procurement through advanced agreements with generators, avoiding expensive on-the-day market purchases. Procuring balancing services for the UK energy system. No direct line management; role requires independent delivery and integration into a highly competent team.
