Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply relevant procedures, codes, and standards to engineering and technical activities
  • Produce and review calculations, analyses, drawings, and technical reports
  • Supervise designers and junior engineering staff
  • Prepare technical scopes of work and specifications
  • Assess tenders and support packages across all project phases (design to decommissioning)
  • Carry out design risk assessments, HAZOPs, and manage design changes
  • Ensure appropriate review, verification, and approval of all deliverables

Key Skills:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Chemical, Process)
  • Member of a relevant professional institute or significant engineering experience at a level capable of achieving Chartered status
  • Proven experience managing small teams across varied engineering tasks
  • Deep understanding of safety and regulatory frameworks within highly regulated industries
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience managing engineering scopes from concept through to EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) (desirable)
  • Background in both commercial and defence nuclear projects (desirable)

Senior Process Engineer - Nuclear Projects
Location: Warrington (3 days onsite per week)
Contract Length: 52 weeks
Rate: £50-£60 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for SC clearance

Are you an experienced Process Engineer with a passion for solving complex problems in high-hazard environments? We're recruiting on behalf of a major organisation in the nuclear sector looking to expand their engineering team with a Senior Process Engineer.

The Opportunity:

As part of the Engineering, Technical and Specialist Capability function, you'll play a key role in delivering high-impact design and technical solutions on a wide range of nuclear projects. This includes early-phase involvement, feasibility studies, design reviews, hazard analysis, and plant modifications-all within one of the UK's most critical sectors.
