Summary: The role of Senior Process Engineer requires a degree in Chemical Engineering and significant experience in process design within the UK chemical sector. The position involves developing key engineering deliverables, managing project aspects, and ensuring quality compliance while fostering client relationships. The role is primarily remote with one day in the office and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop process engineering deliverables to support capital projects in the Chemical sector.
- Manage Process Engineering involvement in small to medium-size projects, including time, cost, quality, and client relationship management.
- Champion quality and compliance controls within local teams and projects.
- Provide engineering services design and consultancy work under the direction of the line manager or project lead.
- Produce design deliverables, site surveys, construction stage duties, and client liaison with design/construction teams.
- Check deliverables produced by colleagues to ensure compliance with quality controls and project requirements.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design team members to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
- Contribute to the preparation of enquiry plans, fee estimates, scopes of work, and change controls.
- Ensure compliance with company quality management and legislative requirements.
Key Skills:
- Relevant degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in design and engineering in the chemical sector or related sectors.
- Experience in developing Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and specifications.
- Proficiency in standard process engineering calculations (pressure drop, pump sizing, heat transfer, etc.).
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary design team.
- Experience in front end and detailed design, chemical batch processing, and hazardous area classification.
- Membership of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience with software such as ABB PEL, AutoCAD P&ID, Visio, and MS Office.
