Summary: The Senior Clean Water Process Engineer will join a multidisciplinary team focused on water treatment and process engineering projects. This role involves leading technical outputs, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and mentoring junior engineers. The position offers the chance to work on significant infrastructure projects within the water sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clean water treatment processes and a strong understanding of industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the evaluation, design, and optimisation of process solutions for clean water treatment projects
- Deliver technical outputs, including calculations, specifications, design documentation, and project scoping materials
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet regulatory and quality standards
- Support commissioning activities and provide technical guidance on operational performance
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, supporting their professional development and chartership aspirations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, standards, and procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process, civil, structural and mechanical requirements
- Analyse and report on process performance, including cost, risk, and efficiency considerations
Key Skills:
- Degree-level qualification in Chemical Engineering, or relevant engineering/scientific discipline
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership
- Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and optimising clean water treatment processes
- Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and CDM 2015 requirements
- Competent in project and process software, including Microsoft Office, and experience with design tools
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring skills
- Proven ability to deliver innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
- Flexible, self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
