Summary: The Senior Process Engineer will lead studies and design packages for carbon capture technologies, overseeing projects from concept through to start-up and field support. This role requires expertise in process design and optimization, as well as the development of engineering deliverables. The engineer will also ensure effective communication across disciplines and maintain strong client relationships while participating in quality audits and reviews. A strong background in chemical engineering and experience in industrial plant operations are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading studies and design packages from concept through to FEED, and Start-up and Field support for CCS drop-in solvent sales and new greenfield facilities.
- Process design, optimisation and support by developing simulations.
- Leading the development of engineering deliverables: H&MBs, PFDs, P&IDs, Process Descriptions, and basic equipment designs for carbon capture plants.
- Leading design reviews and participating in multi-discipline reviews.
- Reviewing calculations and drawings, checking for scope, technical accuracy and presentation.
- Adhering to and complying with engineering procedures and standards and providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Identifying potential applications for new processes and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensuring effective communication and interface between all disciplines for design and development.
- Providing input to the performance management.
- Participating in internal and external QA/QC audits and investigations as required.
- Travelling to and visiting clients, customers, officials and suppliers to support technical representatives.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships internally as well as communicating across the project by developing and maintaining positive, sustainable client relationships.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Member of institution and/or professional engineering practice.
- Experience working within engineering organisations such as EPC and Environmental Services.
- Knowledge and experience of process simulation.
- 8+ years total full-time work experience.
- High technical fluency with ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Knowledge of gas separation technologies used in gas processing, gasification, carbon capture, or industrial gas processes.
- Hands-on experience with the start-up and troubleshooting of industrial plants.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, developing, and entrepreneurial organisation; high level of flexibility and adaptability required.
- Strong relationship building skills, especially across a dispersed team.
