Summary: We are looking for a Senior / Principal Offshore Structural Engineer to enhance our London team, focusing on offshore oil and gas and energy transition projects. The role involves supporting various phases of structural engineering for offshore structures, including design and assessment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offshore structural design and analysis, along with experience in greenfield developments and subsea tie-back structures. This position is hybrid and offers a contract duration of 4-6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support offshore structural engineering activities across concept select, FEED, detailed design, execution, and decommissioning phases.
- Design metallic offshore structures, including fixed platforms and floating topsides.
- Develop and run FEA structural models for offshore structures.
- Design foundation systems including piles and mud mats.
- Support greenfield developments, subsea tie-back structures, and shallow water offshore facilities.
- Assess existing offshore assets, including life extension and structural integrity assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, scopes of work, and engineering documentation.
- Provide technical input to drawings and multidisciplinary engineering reviews.
- Work closely with clients, shipyards, contractors, and certification bodies.
- Ensure designs comply with offshore design standards and HSEQ requirements.
Key Skills:
- Experience working as an Offshore Structural Engineer within oil and gas or offshore energy projects.
- Strong background in offshore structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and FEA tools such as DNVGL SESAM or ANSYS.
- Experience supporting greenfield developments, tie-backs, or shallow water offshore structures is advantageous.
- Degree qualified in Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
