Summary: The role of Senior Principal Accountant (Capital & Treasury) involves overseeing the capital programme and treasury functions for a Local Authority in the West Midlands.   • Management of the Council's Treasury function including monitoring of cash flows, borrowing decisions, and investing surplus funds.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Detailed knowledge of Local Government Capital and Treasury Accounting regulations is desirable.

Salary (Rate): £600 daily

Senior Principal Accountant (Capital & Treasury)

A Local Authority in the West Midlands are looking to appoint a talented Senior Principal Accountant on an Interim basis, are working with Spencer Clarke Group to find a successful candidate.

What's on offer:

  • Rates: £300 - £600 + per day, inside IR35.

*Negotiable based on experience

  • Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week)
  • Hours: 09:00 -17:00

About the role - Capital and Treasury

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join the Central Finance team with specific responsibility for Capital and Treasury accounting in a large metropolitan council.

Responsibilities:

Based in West Midlands:

  1. Overall monitoring of the Council's capital programme in conjunction with service accountants and reporting to senior management and members.
  2. Providing technical advice on capital and treasury matters to service accountants and senior management across all service areas.
  3. Management of the Council's Treasury function including monitoring of cash flows, borrowing decisions, and investing surplus funds.

About you:
You will have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Detailed knowledge of Local Government Capital and Treasury Accounting regulations is desirable.
