Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice, representation, and assistance across the Council on all aspects of Town and Country Planning law and related areas.
  • Drafting section 106 agreements.
  • Working on major development projects.
  • Support Members and staff colleagues at public meetings and other forums as required.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Legal team’s Service Plan and the Council’s Corporate Plan.
  • Assist in the effective operational management of the Legal Services team to ensure a high-quality, cost-effective legal service.

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Proven specialist in planning law with a strong understanding of Town and Country Planning law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality legal services and contributing to the success of the Council’s objectives.
