Summary: Our client, a prominent organization in the defence and security sector, is looking for a Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional to contribute to their Submarine Solutions business unit in Barrow. This contract role emphasizes project planning and management within a specialized industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring project objectives are met while collaborating with various stakeholders. A strong background in project management, particularly in the defence sector, is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing detailed project plans to guide teams and ensure project objectives are met
- Monitoring and controlling project progress against the plan, making adjustments where necessary
- Implementing project management processes and tools to track project performance and support decision-making
- Ensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery
- Preparing regular reports and presentations on project status, including risk management and mitigation strategies
- Supporting the business unit with strategic planning and control insights
- Providing guidance and leadership to junior team members
Key Skills:
- Significant experience in project planning and project management, preferably within the defence and security industry
- Proficiency in using project management tools and methodologies
- Strong understanding of monitoring and control practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working arrangement
- Security clearance (BPSS & SC) is essential
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in project management or a related field
