Summary: The Senior Piping Designer will oversee piping draughting activities for a 12-month contract, ensuring technical quality, budget adherence, and schedule compliance. This role involves project planning, progress tracking, and managing scope changes while collaborating with lead engineers and design teams. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with project management and improving design practices. The position also includes mentoring trainees and maintaining design documentation and databases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver piping draughting activities while ensuring technical quality.
• Manage project planning, progress tracking, and cost control for assigned scopes.
• Collaborate with lead engineers and piping designers on scope changes.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and procedures.
• Review and check work outputs, including remote work approvals.
• Improve design department practices and efficiency.
• Maintain document filing systems and update design databases.
• Support competency development of design personnel, including mentoring trainees.
• Liaise with lead and principal designers on design requirements and software tools.
• Conduct site surveys and visits as required.
• Act as a design focal point when necessary.

Key Skills:

• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• HNC/NC (or equivalent) in appropriate Engineering subject (Piping/Mechanical).
• Broad knowledge and expertise of draughting techniques.
• Selection and use of codes, practices, standards, and statutory documentation.
• Awareness and application of Quality Control, Safety & Environmental methods.
• Competent in directing and organizing design teams within project environments.
• Exposure to commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of design.
• Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.) is desirable.
