Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer

CMC are hiring! We are looking to hire a Senior Oracle BI Developer to join us here at CMC Markets on a 12 month FTC. We are looking for an Oracle Developer who will enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, developing BI solutions that drive operational efficiency, unlocks business growth, and keeps us ahead of the regulatory curve. You will join our team of Business Analysts and Developers innovating across the BI technology stack. We are focused on data acquisition, data transformation, and reporting solutions, utilising data from the Groups’ equity and derivative trading platforms to satisfy the reporting needs of the business, working closely with other product development teams using agile methodology. The role is an ideal fit for an candidate with a strong emphasis on development collaboration in equal measure to Oracle database, and data modelling skills.

What you will be working on:

• Perform systems and data analysis to understand business processes to gain understanding of CMC’s business applications and trading platforms.
• Working closely with Business Analysts to translate business needs to technical specifications.
• Developing ETL for data integration aggregation.
• Developing a data warehouse for self-service reporting tools.
• Developing back-office reporting solutions such as Transaction Reporting and Trial Balance.
• Utilise enterprise job scheduling, data controls, monitoring, and alerting.
• Build product delivery pipelines and maintain source control.
• Plan using Agile methodology, break requirements into stories and tasks, and provide estimates.
• Contribute to BI Wiki documentation, run knowledge transfer sessions, and provide sprint showcases.
• Ownership of Dev and controlled environments including NFR, UAT, and Production, using ITSM best practice.

Who are we looking for:

• Strong experience as a developer, plus skills for the things that sit outside core programming, to help different technologies work together.
• Experience developing Oracle Database and PL/SQL.
• Experience in enterprise job scheduling, Bash and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience of working in a Scrum /Agile delivery team, and comfortable dealing with multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience of developing Java services.
• Experience with Oracle APEX.
• Experience of development within a Cloud environment. (Ideally; AWS Redshift, S3, Glue).
• Knowledge of automated testing / deployment, and release management tools.
• Experience in Financial Services, Stockbroking (Shares), or Derivative/CFD products.
