Summary: The Senior DevOps Engineer / Cloud Platform Engineer role involves designing and building enterprise-scale AWS DevOps frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve the organization's DevOps framework for secure, scalable, and automated deployments.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and develop Infrastructure as Code solutions.
- Improve cloud automation and assist engineering teams in adopting best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, Security, Architecture, and Service Reliability teams.
- Drive observability, cloud cost optimization, infrastructure automation, containerization, and platform scalability.
- Ensure security and compliance throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Platform Engineer.
- Expertise in designing and building CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
- Strong AWS cloud experience.
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience with GitHub and GitHub-based pipelines.
- Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Bash and/or Python scripting.
- DevOps automation and cloud platform engineering knowledge.
- Understanding of DevSecOps, Infrastructure Management, and Information Security best practices.
- Eligible to obtain BPSS Clearance.

ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is delivering a large-scale cloud transformation programme and is investing heavily in modern DevOps capabilities to support the delivery of secure, scalable and highly available cloud services. Due to continued programme growth, they are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer / Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the evolution of their cloud deployment framework and DevOps tooling.
THE SENIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER ROLE
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll take ownership of designing and evolving the organisation's DevOps framework, enabling secure, scalable and automated deployments across multiple product teams. This is a predominantly technical design role (approximately 75% architecture/design and 25% hands-on implementation), where you'll build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, develop Infrastructure as Code solutions, improve cloud automation, and help engineering teams adopt best practices. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Security, Architecture and Service Reliability teams to remove friction from software delivery and enable continuous deployment into AWS cloud environments.
You'll also help drive observability, cloud cost optimisation (FinOps), infrastructure automation, containerisation and platform scalability while ensuring security and compliance are embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
SENIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong commercial experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Platform Engineer
