Summary: The Senior Operational Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activities within the business, ensuring efficient supplier management and compliance with procurement processes. This role involves overseeing supplier portfolios, negotiating pricing, and maintaining documentation while supporting procurement business plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience in direct procurement, particularly within complex environments. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in aerospace or industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a diverse supplier portfolio and drive initial part sourcing activities.
  • Negotiate price adjustment requests and resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies.
  • Manage a workqueue to ensure timely issuance of POs.
  • Ensure close cooperation with Internal Customers (MRPCs, requisitioners) for customer care and early involvement.
  • Contribute to the implementation and usage of globally defined methods, processes, and systems for high process efficiency and compliance.
  • Support Supplier Management processes including qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification.
  • Update supplier evaluation systems to develop the best suppliers and ensure transparency and high procurement quality.
  • Maintain records of all documentation and adherence to online purchasing and contract management systems.
  • Support and/or lead Procurement Business Plan activities.

Key Skills:

  • Strong SAP transactional experience (PS1 ATLAS module, production environment).
  • Outstanding Excel skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in Direct Procurement.
  • Ability to work independently and meet fixed deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Experience in a complex, fast-changing global organizational environment.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced/Fluent level of English.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in PowerBI and lean approaches.
  • Preference for candidates from aerospace/industrial applications.
  • Knowledge of complex products like castings and forgings is a plus.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Oversee a diverse supplier portfolio, drive initial part sourcing activities, negotiate price adjustment requests, and resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies
  • Manage a workqueue and secure that POs are issued in due time
  • Ensure a close cooperation with Internal Customers (MRPCs, requisitioners) to ensure customer care and early involvement
  • Contribute to implementation and ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes and systems to ensure high process efficiency and process compliance (e.g. compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement guidelines, IT systems)
  • Support Supplier Management processes (e.g. qualification, selection, evaluation, development, classification)
  • Update supplier evaluation systems to obtain and develop the best suppliers and ensure transparency and high procurement quality
  • Maintain records of all documentation, adherence of online purchasing and contract management systems
