Key Responsibilities
- Provide third-line resolution of network infrastructure incidents - switching, routing, firewall, load-balancing, wireless
- Monitor, maintain and optimise network infrastructure across all environments and partner sites
- Own network changes in line with governance and change management processes
- Champion DevOps and Infrastructure as Code methodologies across the network function
- Design, develop and support automated network deployment and configuration using Ansible
- Integrate network provisioning and configuration into CI/CD pipelines
- Reduce manual operational tasks through Scripting and orchestration
- Contribute network telemetry, monitoring and alerting into enterprise observability platforms
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
Ideal Candidate
- Significant experience as a Senior Network Engineer within a complex enterprise environment, to third-line level
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6, NAT, QoS, VLSM
- Strong LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and enterprise network design experience
- Clear understanding of VPN technologies (IKE, IPSec, SSL VPN) and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Strong network automation experience with Ansible - playbooks, roles, inventories
- Strong Scripting ability in Python, PowerShell or Bash
- Experience with Git-based version control and Infrastructure as Code
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, YAML and CI/CD tooling
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and ITSM processes
Desirable Experience
- EVPN, VXLAN and software-defined networking (SDN)
- Cloud networking across AWS, Azure or GCP
- Experience in highly regulated or security-conscious environments
