Summary: We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join a leading post-trade workflow organization in London, focusing on a significant data center transformation program. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with multi-vendor networking and firewall technologies. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing network solutions while collaborating with various stakeholders. This position is classified as inside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Design, Build, Test, and Implementation of network solutions as part of a major DC transformation programme
- Decommission multiple links and implement traffic engineering to optimise network circuits following TSA exit
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimise enterprise-grade routing and switching environments across Cisco and Juniper platforms
- Manage Firewall configurations and implement security policies across Fortinet/Fortigate (and Palo Alto) environments
- Create runbooks and engage actively with stakeholders throughout project delivery
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Core Network Engineering team
- Undertake occasional data centre visits in support of operational and project work
- Participate in weekend working during migration windows as required
Key Skills:
- Solid hands-on experience with Cisco DC networking technologies (CCNP level)
- Strong ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimise enterprise routing and switching environments
- Strong working experience with Fortinet/Fortigate firewalls (primary focus), with Palo Alto experience a bonus
- Skilled in implementing security policies and supporting network security best practices
- Juniper experience alongside Cisco
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
