Summary: The Senior Network Engineer role involves supporting a banking client in Glasgow, requiring significant expertise in network and voice technologies, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, and routing protocols. The position entails both on-site work and occasional travel across the UK, focusing on improving and consolidating the bank's network and voice platforms. Candidates must engage through an FCSA accredited Umbrella Company and possess a valid UK driving license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configuration and maintenance of routing, switching, and security devices within enterprise campus and Data Centre environments.
- Support delivery of continual improvement initiatives to reduce risk and increase performance, efficiency, and productivity.
- Lifecycle management for all network devices, including upgrades, capacity management, and succession planning.
- Support delivery of Network/Voice solution design documents.
- Provide technical support for complex problems and share specialist experience.
- Develop advanced switching and routing, security, Data Centre architectures with VPN and wireless domains.
Key Skills:
- Significant network and voice experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP Routing & Switching) or equivalent experience.
- Experience with firewalls, particularly Cisco, FortiGate, Juniper, or Palo Alto.
- Detailed knowledge in TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and network monitoring tools.
- Strong technical expertise with Cisco devices, including ACI.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and services.
- Proficient in MS Office suite and ServiceNow.
