Summary: The Senior Network Engineer role is focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining network architectures within hyperconverged infrastructure environments, specifically utilizing NSX-T and VMware AVI. This position requires deep expertise in network virtualization and security within a mission-critical environment. The role is based onsite in Farnborough and is offered as a 12-month contract. Candidates must possess active DV clearance and strong communication skills to collaborate with various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network architectures within hyperconverged infrastructure environments using NSX-T and VMware AVI.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of NSX-T components, including logical networking, distributed Firewalling, load balancing, and VPN services.
- Enable advanced network virtualisation and micro-segmentation strategies.
- Deploy and manage VMware AVI load balancers to support modern application delivery, automation, and analytics.
- Ensure high availability, performance optimisation, and robust security across network services.
- Design and maintain identity and access management solutions aligned to tiered access models.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments.
- Produce and maintain documentation including network designs, configuration records, change logs, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, and automation teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T.
- Proven expertise with VMware AVI load balancers.
- Experience working within Hyperconverged Infrastructure environments.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
