Summary: The Senior Network Engineer (AWS) role involves managing and enhancing AWS-based network infrastructure within a leading technology organization. The position focuses on ensuring reliability, scalability, and security while driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a high-impact cloud environment as part of a collaborative Central Technology team. Candidates should possess strong networking fundamentals and hands-on AWS experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and improve large-scale AWS cloud networking environments
- Design and manage cloud networking components (VPCs, Transit Gateways, VPNs, etc.)
- Implement and manage cloud-based firewall solutions (e.g. Palo Alto)
- Automate network provisioning using Python and Terraform
- Monitor performance and proactively resolve issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams and external vendors
Key Skills:
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, BGP, routing & switching)
- Hands-on AWS networking experience
- Experience with cloud security and firewall technologies
- Strong Python scripting skills
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)
- Ability to work in complex, multi-vendor environments

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a leading technology-driven organisation, supporting large-scale public cloud networking and security infrastructure.

The Role You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of AWS-based network infrastructure, while contributing to automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
