Summary: We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to manage and enhance our on-premise network infrastructure for a 6-month contract. The role involves ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the enterprise network while collaborating with IT and business teams. The position requires hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking and a proactive approach to incident management. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, spending three days in Warwick and two days working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure
- Provide hands-on support for on-premise network environments, including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and associated hardware
- Monitor network performance, conduct tuning, and resolve faults and incidents
- Ensure network stability, security, and compliance with internal policies and standards
- Work closely with internal IT and business teams to support operational and project requirements
- Produce clear technical documentation and provide handover materials as required
- Participate in incident management and root cause analysis activities
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
- Proven background supporting on-premise enterprise networks (non-cloud focused)
- Experience working with enterprise-grade networking equipment (Cisco or equivalent vendors)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in live environments
- Solid experience in incident management and problem resolution
- Ability to work independently in a contract-based, fast-paced environment
