Summary: The Senior Network Architect role focuses on designing and documenting large-scale Cisco SD-Access solutions for a client on a short-term contract. The position requires extensive experience with Cisco DNA Center, ISE, and TrustSec, along with a strong understanding of SD-Access architectures. The role involves engaging with stakeholders and producing high-level and low-level designs for enterprise networks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of Cisco SD-Access solutions within complex, large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Utilize Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), Cisco ISE, and TrustSec in hands-on implementations.
  • Work with core SDA technologies, including VXLAN and LISP, in fabric-based enterprise networks.
  • Design SD-Access fabric principles, including segmentation models using Virtual Networks (VN) and Scalable Group Tags (SGT).
  • Implement macro and micro-segmentation strategies aligned to security and business requirements.
  • Engage with fabric-enabled wireless networks and integrate them within SDA environments.
  • Produce detailed High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) based on business and technical requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of network automation and programmability, including Python, REST APIs, Ansible, and Cisco DNAC APIs.
  • Engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in designing Cisco SD-Access solutions.
  • Strong hands-on capability with Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, and TrustSec.
  • Deep understanding of SD-Access architectures and fabric design principles.

  • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure Certification (nice to have).

A client of mine is currently looking for an experienced Senior Network Architect to support them on a short-term contract, with extensive experience designing and documenting large-scale Cisco SD-Access solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading the design of Cisco SD-Access solutions within complex, large-scale enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on capability across Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), Cisco ISE, and TrustSec, with a solid grounding in Software-Defined Access architectures
  • Comfortable working at depth with core SDA technologies, including VXLAN and LISP, and applying these within fabric-based enterprise networks
  • Proven understanding of SD-Access fabric design principles, including segmentation models using Virtual Networks (VN) and Scalable Group Tags (SGT)
  • Experience designing and implementing both macro and micro-segmentation strategies aligned to security and business requirements
  • Confident working across fabric-enabled wireless networks, including integration within SDA environments
  • Strong background producing detailed HLDs and LLDs, with the ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable network designs
  • Working knowledge of network automation and programmability, like Python, REST APIs, Ansible, and Cisco DNAC APIs
