Summary: The Senior .NET Developer role is a contract position based in Sheffield, focusing on the development of ComPass, a strategic product for centralizing access to organizational systems and data. The position requires full-stack development expertise, particularly in C# and the .NET ecosystem, and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code and automation processes.
- Work closely with Business Analysts to translate application requirements and use cases into functional features.
- Act as an Agile lead—identify bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues, and devise effective solutions.
- Interface developed solutions with golden-source repositories to centralize and standardize access to key data.
- Maintain high-quality, well-documented code across the full software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the IT Service Manager to ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Support the productionisation and scaling of .NET solutions across the organization.
- Champion coding standards, architectural best practices, and DevOps principles.
- Drive continuous improvement through code reviews, testing, and integration.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in C# with strong knowledge of the .NET ecosystem (including .NET 6 and above).
- Solid experience with relational databases and database-driven application development.
- Hands-on experience with MVC and WebAPI frameworks.
- Front-end development skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Proficient with GIT and other version control tools.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Ability to write reusable C# libraries and scalable, maintainable code.
- Familiarity with automated testing, unit testing, and continuous integration workflows.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles and enterprise application development.
- Consulting background is a plus.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written).
