Senior Naval Architect Designer - Malaysia

Summary: The Senior Designer is tasked with creating design solutions that meet high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, contributing to the strategic objectives of the organization. This role involves collaboration with engineers and other designers to ensure design intent is understood and conflicts are resolved. The designer is also responsible for planning and executing design activities within specified timelines while adhering to industry standards and regulations. Additionally, the position may involve leading other designers and acting as the Lead Designer for specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and execution of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You utilize technical knowledge and software tools to clearly depict the design that can be easily and correctly interpreted by others.
• You collaborate with Engineers, other Designers and Lead Designer to proactively share information, ensure design intent is understood, and resolve design conflicts.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Designer/Engineer to minimize delays in deliverables, understanding how assigned tasks fit within the project schedule and affect other stakeholders in meeting deadlines.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You collaborate with Package Engineers to ensure timely review of vendor documents and that comments are made with the required quality level.
• You start leading designers on assigned scope of work.
• You may act as Lead Designer for assigned scope of work.

Key Skills:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, or related field
• 5 to 10 years in Oil & Gas Industry
