Summary: The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor role involves managing the commercial aspects of Mechanical & Electrical projects, ensuring effective cost management and contract administration. This long-term contract position offers hybrid working arrangements and is classified as outside IR35. The successful candidate will provide commercial guidance to project teams while maintaining robust cost controls and supporting project delivery across multiple sites in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial aspects of Mechanical & Electrical packages across multiple projects
- Produce, review, and negotiate valuations, applications for payment, variations and change orders
- Lead procurement activities, including subcontractor tendering, assessment, and appointment
- Maintain accurate cost reporting, forecasts, cashflow and budget control
- Conduct detailed analysis of MEP project costs and identify value-engineering opportunities
- Support monthly CVRs and present commercial updates to senior stakeholders
- Manage accounts through to final account
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure commercial objectives are met
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within MEP contracting (essential)
- Strong understanding of Mechanical & Electrical cost structures and procurement
- Experience working on commercial, data centre or critical infrastructure projects (desirable)
- Excellent contractual knowledge
- Strong negotiation, analytical and financial reporting skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple project packages
- Comfortable working 3 days on site in London and 2 days remotely
- Available for an Outside IR35 contract
