Summary: The role of Senior Medical Secretary within the Cardiology Department at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is a fixed-term position for 10 months to cover maternity leave. Job Overview THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 10 MONTHS TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION, YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST. We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive medical secretary to join the Cardiology Department within the Medical Directorate.

Main duties of the job The role requires a medical secretary with experience of working on their own initiative at a senior level and is able to offer a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Consultants and their associated teams. As a senior medical secretary, you will be the first point of contact for patients, doctors and staff throughout the Health Board. This challenging position requires someone who is a team player, flexible, organised and is able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will need to be an experienced typist, qualified to RSA Typing Level III (or equivalent). This position also requires excellent communication skills, the ability to meet the demands of working in a busy environment and is able to represent the department with due professionalism. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
