Summary: The Senior Mechanical Designer role involves providing technical guidance and support to a team of multi-disciplined designers, ensuring quality output throughout the design lifecycle. The designer will resolve design issues and provide governance on technical standards while working with a high degree of autonomy. Specialist knowledge and substantial experience in design are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designs and develops solutions, resolving design issues for various specialist situations.
• Provides specialist technical advice and guidance to other designers.
• Ensures design governance for technical standards within the team.
• Works with a high degree of technical autonomy, typically incorporating Engineer status.

Key Skills:

• HNC/HND minimum in a relevant discipline or equivalent academic qualification.
• Experience in a detailed design environment.
• Good knowledge of CAD tools.
• Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
• Incorporated Engineer status.
• ICF (Integrated Competency Framework) to be demonstrated or in progress.
• Demonstrable experience in leading a multi-disciplined design team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with other disciplines.
