Summary: The Senior Manager for Economic Growth Policy at the National Wealth Fund will lead the development and implementation of strategies to support economic growth while managing key stakeholder relationships. This role involves providing thought leadership, influencing policy decisions, and overseeing a growing team focused on delivering the Fund's objectives. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a hybrid working arrangement based in Leeds. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the Fund's strategy and ensuring alignment with government priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the NWF’s approach to delivering economic growth strategic objectives.
  • Provide thought leadership on economic growth topics internally and externally.
  • Lead the development of NWF strategy and policy decisions related to economic growth.
  • Influence NWF organisational transition and support the new Industrial Strategy.
  • Manage relationships with UK government departments and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the NWF with senior stakeholders in government and local authorities.
  • Lead projects across various functions to ensure economic growth is embedded in operations.
  • Deliver strategic investment opportunities focusing on key sectors.
  • Provide policy and strategic due diligence on transactions and contribute to Investment Committee papers.
  • Lead and manage the economic growth policy team, setting strategic direction and priorities.
  • Support the Deputy Director for Economic Growth.

Key Skills:

  • Experience influencing and delivering government policy.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategy and resolving complex issues.
  • Ability to engage with and influence senior partners and nurture strategic relationships.
  • Significant experience in investment-focused government departments or public finance institutions.
  • Team leadership and management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passion for supporting economic growth and Net Zero initiatives.
