Summary: The Senior Management Accountant role is a fixed-term contract position aimed at covering maternity leave for up to 10 months within a fast-paced organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management accounts, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and acting as a finance business partner. This position requires an experienced accountant who can quickly add value and support the finance team in a dynamic environment. An immediate start is preferred for this role based in Cheshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines
- Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations
- Deliver budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts in collaboration with operational teams
- Provide variance analysis with clear, actionable insights
- Support year-end audits and statutory reporting
- Act as a finance business partner to operational stakeholders
- Produce detailed cost analysis (including labour, overheads, and product costing)
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators
- Drive improvements in financial controls, processes, and reporting
- Support finance system enhancements and integrations
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Mentor junior finance team members and build strong cross-functional relationships
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong experience in a management accounting role
- Proven background in budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent balance sheet and reconciliation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel and financial systems expertise
- Able to start at short notice or immediately available
Salary (Rate): £70,000 yearly
