Summary: The Senior Management Accountant for Netherlands/Belgium at Travel Counsellors is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the businesses in these regions. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and driving efficiency within the finance team. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract aimed at providing maternity cover. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to support financial objectives and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations in line with internal deadlines.
- Manage intercompany transactions, including foreign exchange considerations, and review overheads and non-operating expenses.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures, statutory reporting (local GAAP), tax filings (e.g. VAT, corporate tax), and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, payroll providers, and local teams to ensure timely audits, payroll processing, and statutory submissions.
- Lead and inspire the finance team, fostering collaboration and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with international stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational cost analysis.
- Drive systems and process improvements to enhance automation, data accuracy, and accessibility for key stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in financial reporting and management accounting.
- Technically strong with good knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience of working with international entities and working with external advisors to meet tax and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with external auditors.
- Proficiency in financial software (D365 preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

About the Role The Senior Management Accountant Netherlands/Belgium is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the Netherlands/Belgium businesses, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements for the Netherlands/Belgium businesses. The Senior Management Accountant Netherlands/Belgium plays a key role in driving efficiency within the finance team and ensuring the company meets its financial objectives.
Principal Accountabilities

Partner with international stakeholders, including regional GMs and FP&A, to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational cost analysis. Drive systems and process improvements to enhance automation, data accuracy, and accessibility for key stakeholders.
