The Role
As Senior Management Accountant you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business performance, taking ownership of the monthly management accounts for a portfolio of entities, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide meaningful financial insight to operational stakeholders.
You'll also act as line manager for one person.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss,
- Balance Sheet and supporting schedules.
- Ownership of entity trial balances, ensuring all financial information is complete and accurate.
- Prepare and post journals, incl. accruals, prepayments and other month end adjustments.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances.
- Process intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Provide clear commentary on financial performance, highlighting key variances against budget and forecast.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial forecasts.
- Build strong relationships with operational managers, providing financial support and commercial insight.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor capital expenditure.
- Support the year end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts and manage intercompany funding requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, controls and business performance.
- Line manage and develop a Management Accountant, providing support, coaching and review of their work.
The Person
- Fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
- Management Accounting experience gained in a commercial setting - TB through to final reporting
- Experience of supporting Budgeting and Forecasting processes and partnering operational stakeholders
- Excel and ERP systems skills
- Supervisory/leadership experience would be highly advantageous.
