Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare group consolidation and IFRS journals.
- Develop monthly board packs with detailed analysis and supporting data.
- Review monthly payroll across three entities.
- Oversee fortnightly supplier payment runs and approve bank payments.
- Supervise and mentor assistant accountants.
- Act as the key contact for statutory audits and external taxes.
- Support the CFO and Group Financial Controller with statutory adjustments and accounting challenges.
- Prepare cash flows and forecasts, including annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Handle ad hoc tasks such as VAT and compliance.
- Communicate across departments with operational and sales teams.
- Promote continuous improvement in business policies and processes.
Key Skills:
- CA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant Maternity Cover (12month FTC) that offers the right candidate the chance to work with several influential leaders as they shape the business through a transformational stage of its evolution. This role will be based at our unique Head Office in Renfrew which includes our state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer and yoga classes as well as the Beeks Bar or weekly masseuse to help you unwind!
The Role:
We are looking to speak to candidates who bring a strong academic background and are CA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in industry. This is not a traditional accountancy role – we want a candidate that can bring good business acumen, commercial curiosity and intellect to an exciting business. You must be comfortable engaging in strategic discussions, forming decisions around value creation and considering the long-term goals of the business.
Responsibilities will include:
- Full responsibility for preparing, reviewing and submitting the monthly management accounts within timely deadlines, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts across the full group in line with month end timetable
- Preparation of timely and accurate group consolidation including IFRS journals
- Preparation of monthly board pack with detailed analysis and supporting data
- Review of monthly payroll across three entities
- Review of fortnightly supplier payment runs and approval of bank payments to a certain limit
- Supervision and line management of assistant accountants, responsible for overseeing their daily tasks, mentoring and coaching
- Key point of contact for statutory audits, reviews and any external taxes
- Supporting the CFO and Group Financial Controller and with key statutory adjustments, accounting standard changes and other technical accounting challenges
- Support and prepare cash flows and cash flow forecasts
- Support the Group Financial Controller and CFO to produce annual budgets and rolling forecasts including Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Capex schedules
- Other ad hoc tasks such as VAT, overseas taxes and compliance
- Cross company communications with operational, sales and other key budget holders
- Promote a continuous improvement approach to business policy and processes, implementing positive change
