Summary: The Senior M&E Project Manager (Mechanical Bias) will oversee the mechanical services for a prestigious leisure spa development in London, ensuring successful project delivery from pre-construction to completion. This role demands a technically proficient and commercially aware professional with a strong background in managing complex building services projects. The position involves direct client interaction and collaboration with the main contractor and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in mechanical project management within the leisure and hospitality sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage mechanical services on a high-profile leisure and hospitality development
- Take full ownership of the mechanical package from design coordination through to handover
- Act as the client-facing lead, liaising directly with the main contractor, consultants, and stakeholders
- Plan, programme, and oversee project delivery to meet key milestones
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, valuations, and cost control
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal site teams
- Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions, and design information
- Manage RFIs, variations, and change control procedures
- Oversee procurement of mechanical plant, equipment, and materials
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety
- Ensure compliance with relevant mechanical standards, regulations, and company procedures
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and final handover
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Senior or Project M&E Manager with a strong mechanical bias
- Background delivering complex commercial, leisure, or high-end developments
- Demonstrable client-facing experience dealing directly with main contractors
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC and major plant
- Experience managing programmes, budgets, and subcontractor performance
- Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Mechanical or Building Services qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent)
- SMSTS and CSCS (Black or Gold)
- Experience delivering high-value London projects
- Background working for a recognised UK M&E contractor
