Summary: The Senior M&E Project Manager (Mechanical Bias) will oversee the mechanical services for a prestigious leisure spa development in London, ensuring successful project delivery from pre-construction to completion. This role demands a technically proficient and commercially aware professional with a strong background in managing complex building services projects. The position involves direct client interaction and collaboration with the main contractor and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage mechanical services on a high-profile leisure and hospitality development
- Take full ownership of the mechanical package from design coordination through to handover
- Act as the client-facing lead, liaising directly with the main contractor, consultants, and stakeholders
- Plan, programme, and oversee project delivery to meet key milestones
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, valuations, and cost control
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal site teams
- Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions, and design information
- Manage RFIs, variations, and change control procedures
- Oversee procurement of mechanical plant, equipment, and materials
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety
- Ensure compliance with relevant mechanical standards, regulations, and company procedures
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and final handover
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Senior or Project M&E Manager with a strong mechanical bias
- Background delivering complex commercial, leisure, or high-end developments
- Demonstrable client-facing experience dealing directly with main contractors
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC and major plant
- Experience managing programmes, budgets, and subcontractor performance
- Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Mechanical or Building Services qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent)
- SMSTS and CSCS (Black or Gold)
- Experience delivering high-value London projects
- Background working for a recognised UK M&E contractor
