Location: Milton Keynes – Hybrid Working - 3-days Onsite
Duration: 6-month initial contract, likely extension | Inside IR35 | 37.5+ hours per week | Paid on-call rota

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting and administering enterprise Linux platforms across secure, business-critical environments.
- Investigating complex infrastructure incidents, performance problems and platform issues through to resolution.
- Building and maintaining stable, scalable and secure Linux environments for applications and development teams.
- Using automation to streamline infrastructure delivery, reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Containerising applications and supporting modern deployment practices across the estate.
- Delivering platform upgrades, infrastructure improvements and technical project work alongside BAU responsibilities.
- Supporting associated VMware environments and technologies.
- Working within established service management, operational and security processes.
- Producing clear technical documentation and maintaining accurate operational records.
- Leading technical conversations around platform development, improvements and infrastructure strategy.
- Sharing knowledge across the wider team and helping develop internal technical capability.
- Participating in a paid on-call rota, including overnight weekday and 24-hour weekend or bank holiday cover when scheduled.
Main Skills Needed
- Strong commercial experience administering enterprise Linux environments.
- Advanced Linux troubleshooting skills, including resolving complex infrastructure and performance issues.
- Experience supporting secure, highly available or business-critical technology environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure automation and improving operational processes through automation.
- Experience building and maintaining Linux-based development environments, applications and services.
- Practical understanding of containers, application deployment and modern infrastructure practices.
- Working knowledge of VMware technologies.
- Experience operating within structured service management and security frameworks.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.
- Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, LFCS or LPIC-1/LPIC-2 would be advantageous.
