Key Responsibilities:

ATTENTION ALL LIFE UNDERWRITERS!

American Computer Services, Inc. is seeking multiple Senior Life Underwriters who will be responsible for ensuring the effective risk selection of cases reviewed.

Work Location:

  • Hybrid If near client office, on-site 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
  • Remote If long distance from client office. Must be in U.S.

To Be Successful you will have:

  • Experience interacting frequently with Underwriting, New Business and distribution groups.
  • Experience with Life Underwriting (mortality) and related morbidity risk.
  • Experience with approval authority over $1,500,000 through all tables and all ages.
  • Experience with Individual Life Insurance Underwriting.
  • Experience using Prescription checks, Diagnostic claims data (ICD/CPT/HCPC codes), MIB, Attending Physician statements, paramedical exams and labs in assessing risk.
  • Experience managing a case load within service level agreements from initial underwriting review to final decision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have completed two or more LOMA classes, while working toward a FLMI designation.
  • Have completed the AALU Certification, while working towards FALU.
  • Approval authority exceeding $1,500,000.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills when working with different levels of both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and meet high productivity demands.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely within a virtual environment and a distributed team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years life underwriting experience.
