Summary: The Senior Legal Management Consultant role at a leading professional services firm involves enhancing the efficiency of legal service delivery through strategic planning and process optimisation. This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for longer-term opportunities, focusing on managing legal matters and collaborating with stakeholders. The consultant will also be responsible for developing project management frameworks and delivering training sessions. The role requires significant experience in legal project management and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end legal matters, ensuring streamlined delivery while identifying and implementing innovative approaches.
  • Develop and maintain best-practice project management frameworks to enhance legal workflows.
  • Partner with senior lawyers, clients, and external collaborators to scope projects, establish financial frameworks, allocate resources, and integrate suitable technologies.
  • Lead project kick-offs, team briefings, and regular reviews to align workstreams with client expectations.
  • Monitor budgets, optimise resource allocation, and drive efficiencies to maximise value.
  • Assist with pitches and client presentations.
  • Deliver workshops and training sessions to embed Project Management principles across the firm and with clients.

Key Skills:

  • Significant experience in Legal Project Management, client-facing Project Management, or Management Consultancy, ideally within a law firm, legal management consulting or in-house legal function.
  • A recognised Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge traditional ways of working and articulate the benefits of project management.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with a problem-solving mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.

Salary (Rate): £120,000.00
