Summary: The Senior Legal Counsel role involves providing professional legal advice and support to the business, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, legislation, and HSES Procedures.
- Provide legal advice and manage outside legal services on commercial, regulatory, and strategic issues.
- Contribute to the delivery of the scorecard by managing legal risks and commercial opportunities.
- Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of commercial agreements.
- Support the Line Manager and General Counsel, supervising the work of less experienced team members.
- Communicate legal and regulatory policies throughout the business.
- Conduct risk assessments on significant commercial opportunities and business decisions.
- Complete compulsory compliance training as required.
Key Skills:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or Scotland.
- Strong academic background with practical application of jurisprudence.
- Extensive knowledge of Oil and Gas operations and UK regulatory framework.
- Knowledge of Ethics and Compliance procedures.
