Summary: The Senior Legal Advisor will join the Commercial Legal team at DMGT HQ in High Street Kensington, London, on a fixed-term contract. This role involves providing strategic legal advice on media-related matters, including AdTech, content licensing, and regulatory compliance. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and mentoring junior team members in a fast-paced media environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of media-related matters including AdTech, content licensing, intellectual property, privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Review and negotiate agreements with advertising and technology partners, content creators, production companies, talent, and other third parties.
- Advise on consumer law, promotional/marketing campaigns, and programmatic advertising matters.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and executives to provide proactive legal guidance and risk management advice.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in media and advertising law.
- Mentor and manage junior members of the team.
- Manage external counsel and advise on media, IP and business specific disputes.
Key Skills:
- England and Wales qualified (or equivalent) with ideally a minimum of 6 years’ PQE.
- Experience in technology, media and advertising law, preferably with experience in a media company or law firm specializing in media and technology related matters.
- Strong understanding of AdTech, contract law, consumer affairs, content licensing and privacy regulations.
- Innovative and pragmatic approach to sector specific matters.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing and mentoring junior legal staff.
