Summary: The role is for a Senior KDB Developer within the FI Algo trading IT team in London, focusing on the development and analysis of pricing, trading, hedging, and risk management algorithms for Fixed Income products. The position requires deep experience with Q/KDB+ and involves liaising with traders, monitoring algorithm deployment, and providing technical support. The developer will also design dashboards and perform statistical analysis related to algorithm performance. This is a hybrid role with a 6-month rolling contract, classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with traders to understand requirements and leverage solutions from other product lines within Algo Flow trading.
- Monitor the deployment of new and modified trading algorithms for compliance with firm obligations.
- Design, develop, test, and deliver application changes for the FI Algo trading desks, including API and schema design.
- Design dashboards in Altair Panopticon to monitor trading algorithms.
- Perform ad-hoc statistical analysis of algorithm performance, behavior, market data, and client behavior.
- Maintain and evolve KDB and develop compliance monitoring tools.
- Provide technical assistance and 3rd line support to internal Production Support teams.
- Participate in software releases, which may occur out of hours/weekends.
Key Skills:
- Deep experience with Q/KDB+ in a financial markets environment, preferably in Fixed Income.
- Knowledge of the TorQ framework for KDB+ is advantageous.
- Understanding of UNIX/Linux OS.
- Familiarity with software delivery processes, methodologies, and test strategies.
- Experience with qspec and qunit frameworks is useful.
- Knowledge of Altair Panopticon is a distinct advantage.
- Strong communication and systematic reasoning skills.
- Low latency experience is a plus.

Summary
Looking for a Senior KDB developer to join the FI Algo trading IT team in London. Mission of the eFI Algorithm Trading team in the front office environment is to help develop and analyse the Pricing, Trading, Hedging and Risk Management algorithms for Fixed Income products. This role is within a small KDB+ development team focused on pricing and risk management for the FI Algo Trading desks. The team has short feedback cycles, frequent deliveries of hours to days, direct contact to stakeholders and the trading desk. Your core attributes will include: Clear communication & systematic reasoning. Deep experience with Q/KDB+ working in a similar environment, experience with TorQ framework for KDB+ advantageous. Have front office knowledge of the FI business or quantitative finance. UNIX/Linux OS knowledge. Knowledge about software delivery processes and methodologies and test strategies. - Design, develop, test and deliver application change to meet the needs of the FI Algo trading desks - this will include both API and schema design, and a significant amount of work on real-time KDB+ processes.
- Design dashboard in Altair Panopticon to monitor the trading algorithms.
- Perform ad-hoc statistical analysis of algorithm performance, behavior, market data, client behavior.

These responsibilities are not intended to be prescriptive - it is anticipated that staff will be encouraged to undertake activities outside their specific responsibilities.
Additional notes
The position is essentially a technical lead role within the KDB area but will not involve line management. Individual will need to act as an SME for the other, less senior developers in the team to come to with queries in addition to focusing on their own tasks. Strong prior experience within KDB Prior experience of KDB within a financial markets environment, ideally within Fixed income (including bonds). Low Latency experience would also be another massive plus Comfortable working in environment which has high-frequency of demands

Both interviews will be heavy on the technical side due to the scope of the role. KDB knowledge and other systems in the JD will be tested via competency-based questioning.
