Summary: Equivar is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a long-term engagement in the financial services sector. The role involves delivering across the full software lifecycle, collaborating with development leads and business stakeholders to ensure the creation of scalable, high-quality software. Key responsibilities include contributing to various projects, engaging in architecture and design, and applying continuous integration practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to greenfield, integration, and legacy transformation projects using Java and React
- Engage in architecture, design, and implementation across backend and UI components
- Collaborate in Agile squads, contributing to planning, estimation, and iterative delivery
- Apply continuous integration and delivery practices, alongside automated testing
- Produce technical documentation with clarity for both development and stakeholder reference
- Take ownership of deliverables and communicate progress effectively across teams
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Java (11+), RESTful APIs, and relational databases (Postgres, DB2, or SQL Server)
- Familiarity with React and Node.js or similar JavaScript frameworks, as well as modern HTML/CSS
- Exposure to Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tooling (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and supporting infrastructure (e.g. Jenkins, Docker)
- Ability to articulate technical decisions and engage with both business and technical teams
- A delivery mindset, focused on efficiency, quality, and stakeholder value
