Summary: The Senior Java Oracle Coherence Developer will serve as a technical lead in a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing a globally distributed referential data system utilized across various applications in the Global Markets domain. The role requires strong expertise in Core Java and familiarity with distribution caching technologies such as Oracle Coherence, GridGain, or GemFire. The developer will also be expected to define and govern development best practices while working on a Tier 1 platform. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as technical lead for Java applications developed within the team.
• Maintain and enhance a globally distributed referential data system based on Oracle Coherence.
• Define and govern development best practices.
• Perform development, performance tuning, and monitoring of applications.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Skills:

• Expert level Core Java knowledge.
• Strong test-driven Java programming skills.
• Experience with Oracle Coherence, GridGain, or GemFire.
• JVM performance tuning expertise.
• Exposure to SQL on a relational database (preferably Oracle).
• Experience with Dev-Ops tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Sonar.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proactive and highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Ideally a numerate degree/qualification (Maths, Computer Science, Software Engineering).
