Senior Backend Developer Java Spring Boot Hybrid Contract Role

Location: London (Hybrid) 3 days per week in office.

Contract Length: 12 month rolling

What You'll Do

• Design and develop Back End applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and enhance scalable microservices and REST APIs
• Drive architectural decisions focused on performance, security and scalability
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and production support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic technology initiatives
• Champion engineering best practices, code quality and automated testing
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership where needed

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of Java Back End development experience
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Batch and Spring Integration
• Experience building microservices and RESTful APIs
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with Git, JUnit, Unix/Linux and Shell scripting
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
• A solid understanding of distributed systems, Back End performance and application security
