Summary: The Senior IT Project Manager at Hampshire County Council will lead the delivery of large and complex IT projects, ensuring they meet strategic business goals while adhering to budget and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver large and complex projects that meet the requirements of the Council and its service users.
- Lead all stages of the projects, developing strong relations with key stakeholders, project board members, suppliers, and customers.
- Deliver project documentation and communications to a high standard.
- Provide expert information and advice on potential project approaches in response to customer/corporate requirements.
- Demonstrate strong control of project delivery, including agreeing scope, budget, and project tolerances.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Identify, monitor, and forecast all costs related to the project and resulting BAU services.
- Identify and monitor project dependencies.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, providing appropriate controls and escalation.
- Manage project resources within IT, wider HCC directorates, or with third-party suppliers.
- Ensure smooth transition of projects into business as usual via the Service Design & Transition Board.
- Provide line management of other project staff as required.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced project managers as required.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large and complex projects across a diverse portfolio. Our Projects and Programmes Team is a busy and dynamic change function, supporting the departments of the authority to deliver transformation, savings, and service improvements whist working within formal governance structures and processes.
What you’ll do:
