Senior Interior Designer (1 Year FTC)

About The Role: We are working with an established and highly respected design studio that delivers thoughtfully crafted interior projects across a range of sectors and scales. They are currently seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their team on a one-year maternity cover contract. This role is suited to an experienced, confident designer with a strong all-round skill set, capable of leading projects through all stages of the design process – from concept development to on-site delivery. You will play a key role within the studio, working collaboratively with senior peers while also mentoring and guiding junior team members. As a senior member of the team, you will be comfortable taking responsibility across all project stages, collaborating closely with colleagues, contributing strategically to design discussions, and supporting the development of less experienced designers. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead interior design projects from concept through to on-site implementation
• Develop strong design narratives supported by clear visual and technical output
• Oversee and contribute to design development, detailing and coordination packages
• Manage time, workload and project priorities effectively across multiple projects
• Collaborate closely with senior team members, taking direction where required
• Delegate tasks appropriately and mentor junior designers, providing guidance and support
• Participate in design reviews, team discussions and creative critiques

Key Skills / Experience:

• Minimum of 8+ years’ professional experience within an interior design studio
• Proven experience delivering projects across all stages, from concept to site
• Strong all-round design capability, including concept development, detailing and implementation
• Experience mentoring and supporting junior designers
• Highly organised, proactive and diligent in managing workload and deadlines
• Proficiency in Vectorworks, Cinema 4D and Adobe Creative Suite
