Summary: The role of Senior Infrastructure Engineer (NetDevOps) involves designing, building, and evolving large-scale enterprise network platforms with a focus on modern, automated, and cloud-integrated infrastructure. The position is for an initial ten-month assignment with the possibility of extension, requiring 60% site attendance at various locations including Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Blackpool. Candidates must hold Active SC clearance and possess extensive experience in Infrastructure/Network Engineering support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and evolve large-scale enterprise network platforms.
- Deliver engineering solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Implement Enterprise Networking Engineering practices.
- Manage Firewall and Security Technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls and Zero Trust principles.
- Develop Data Centre & Network Architecture, including VXLAN/EVPN and load balancing technologies.
- Utilize network automation tools such as Python or Ansible.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (IAC) methodologies, such as Terraform.
- Work on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP.
Key Skills:
- Active SC clearance.
- Experience in Network/Infrastructure Engineer roles.
- Proficiency in delivering engineering solutions.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Networking Engineering.

Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our public sector client, who is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (NetDevOps) for an initial ten-month assignment with the option to extend.
Location: Hybrid working - Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Blackpool (60% site attendance required)
About the role: You will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving large-scale enterprise network platforms, with a strong focus on modern, automated, and cloud-integrated infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will hold Active SC clearance and have a strong background in delivery Infrastructure/ Network Engineering support, with the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a Network / Infrastructure Engineer role in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience delivering engineering solutions.
- Experience of Enterprise Networking Engineering
- Experience of Firewall and Security Technologies (Palo Alto firewalls, Zero Trust & Secure Network Design Principals)
